VANS ANAHEIM FACTORY COLLECTION: SIDEWALL PRINTS
Throwback collection pays homage to Vans’ SoCal roots
Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel brand, honors its SoCal roots with this season’s Anaheim Factory collection featuring reissued sidewall prints from the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Made for those who appreciate the details, the Anaheim Factory Collection combines features from Vans’ original models with an upgrade in comfort. Vans pulled styles and prints from the archives and matched the original construction of models produced in its first factory in Anaheim, California.
The silhouettes in this collection feature some throwback details including “friction scenes” on the shoe’s sidewall, the earliest of which date back to 1977 and expanded in the ‘80s to include colorful, whimsical designs. The collection also leverages original style numbers and color palettes, higher-glossed foxing tape, cotton laces and original drill lining weight. Meanwhile, OrthoLite® sockliners bring comfort to the classic style.
The pack showcases the Authentic 44 DX, Vans’ first style, born when brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren, along with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia, began manufacturing shoes and selling them directly to the public in March 1966 from the Van Doren rubber factory in Anaheim, California.
For the men’s line, the Authentic’s sidewalls pay homage to action sports with retro graphics from Vans’ past. Vintage three-color illustrations depict skiing and surfing scenes on the men’s white and yellow colorways.
The women’s lineup is available in emerald and blue colorways with colorful throwback heart and rainbow sidewall art. Made for the true Vans enthusiast, the Anaheim Factory collection honors the brand’s rich history, offering unparalleled quality to those who know a classic when they see one.
The Anaheim Factory collection is available now online and at select Vans retailers.
